Step Back in Time with the 3716 Locomotive

Want to know what it's like to travel like the early 20th century folk? Climb aboard the 3716, a meticulously restored 1912 steam locomotive in Summerland, and find out. The Kettle Valley Steam Railway offers a 90-minute round trip that will transport you back in time along the historic Kettle Valley Railway. As you journey through the beautiful Prairie Valley, surrounded by orchards, vineyards, and sweeping views, you'll feel the rumble and hear the whistle of the 3716—just like travellers did over a century ago.

The Kettle Valley Railway was completed in 1916 and opened up the West Coast to the rest of Canada in the fruit and poultry markets. It transported families and created employment in the Okanagan in the early years of settlement.
