Keep your eye out for the recently spotted California Quail, American Robin or the White-throated Swift.
Dogs are welcome here, but they must be on a leash. The trail is well-marked and follows a steady ascent known as The Grind before descending along the East Ridge. Along the way, you’ll get expansive views of Okanagan Lake and Summerland, though be prepared for direct sunlight during certain times of the day. The road to the top of the trail is closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly.
Mount Conkle Trail
Mount Conkle offers a challenging 8.9-km loop that takes around 2.5 hours to complete and is a favourite for birdwatchers, hikers, and mountain bikers. It starts with the Conkle Bonk Trail, continues onto the Full Frontal trail, and ends with the MidLine trail. It's best visited from April through November. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
Mount Conkle has an elevation of 3,071 feet and the trails are primarily designed for mountain biking, however they can also be hiked. Garnet Lake Trail

Starting near Garnet Valley Road, this trail features sections of loose rock on the Fur Brigade Trail before transitioning to a utility road. The path is wide and easy for walking, with opportunities to glimpse Okanagan Lake through the trees. The trail includes two viewpoints where you can see all of Peachland and the Okanagan Mountains. Birds viewed in this area are the Common Poorwill, Western Screech-Owl and the Mountain Chickadee.
Peach Orchard Beach Park
Peach Orchard Beach Park offers a short 1.3-km walk perfect for birdwatching. This park provides a relaxing setting to spot local bird species and enjoy the waterfront views. It's a great spot for a quick outing with the potential to see various birds in a compact area.
