Riders camp at the nearby Rodeo Grounds and camping is a big part of the Giant's Head Freeride experience. Attendees should bring their own camping gear. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, riders should come prepared with the essential gear such as their skateboard, slide gloves, helmet, shoes and recommended gear such as full-face helmet, leathers, knee and elbow pads, crash shorts, and eye protection.

Spectators are also an essential part of the event. There are many areas to view the event along the road to watch the athletes take on curves such as "Dead Man's" or "Hairpin." To enjoy the event fully, bring a water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, backpack, portable battery, camera.
