The Summerland Bluegrass Festival, run by The Summerland Bluegrass Society is a music event that's dedicated to preserving and promoting Bluegrass and Old Time Country music. The festival creates a welcoming environment for musicians of all levels to come together, share their passion, and build a community. Held every July at the Summerland Rodeo Grounds, this festival celebrates the musical roots of the region.

Music and Activities

Over three days, attendees can enjoy a variety of performances, jam sessions, and workshops. There’s an open mic for those who want to showcase their talent and a band scramble where musicians can form impromptu groups. The festival also features local entertainment, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. For those looking to learn, workshops cover various aspects of bluegrass music, offering a chance to improve skills and gain new knowledge.

Local Food and Vendors

Food is a significant part of the Summerland Bluegrass Festival. Local vendors provide a range of home-style cooking, giving visitors a taste of the region. From homemade preserves to BBQs, there’s something for everyone. The event also supports local artisans and businesses, creating a marketplace where attendees can explore and purchase unique goods. This blend of music, food, and local craftsmanship creates a rich, community-focused experience.

Camping and Accommodation

The festival offers plenty of space for RVs and tents. It’s all dry camping, so be prepared to bring your essentials. There are bathrooms and limited showers on site. If you don’t own an RV, you can rent one through RV Days. For those who prefer more comfort, Summerland has several motels and hotels available. Arriving early is recommended to secure a good camping spot, as it’s first come, first served.
